Dr. Sole and Mr. Heel in downtown Hillsboro is excellent. If he doesn't make them himself, he will be able to give you the name of someone good. He also teaches leatherwork classes, not ornamental but the real stuff. The moment you walk in the door, you know you have the right place! DrSoleAndMrHeel.com

A real testament to Dr. Sole & Mr. Heel: A dear friend had a pair of red boots that she absolutely loved that needed repairs. She travels a lot and had taken them to many shoe repair shops across the country. They all told her they could not be repaired. She took them there. Not only did he repair them, but they looked brand new when she picked them up. She has only the very best things to say about him. She has since taken all of her leather-related repairs to him. He takes great pride in his work. My own work taken there has not been as challenging as was hers but I've been just as pleased with it. We both live in Vancouver and feel it is more than worth the drive for the quality of his work.
Silly story but here it is: stopped by a shoe repair place in NE Portland I've been driving by for months now, while waiting for it to open checked out its FB page,...

I worked in the industry to 15+ years and I wouldn't recommend anyone besides Dorian unless you are willing to drive to Hillsboro. Do not go to Lloyd Center.

If you need something simple done, there is a shoe repair shop in Lloyd Center that is ok. I wouldn't take anything too complicated there, though.
Velcro-stitching in the pocket of my messenger (just 3 weeks old) has already come undone. Any recommendations on repair?
