Looking for some Ear, Nose, and Throat doctor recommendations in the Richmond area for children. . .someone who will be pretty comprehensive and consider allergies, too....
Jacquie M. replied:
My brother in law is an allergist and is great with kids. William (Bill) T. Hark at Richmond allergy.I know he's not exactly what you're looking for first though.
Julie S. replied:
Dr, Lim ent is great he helped my niece with the combo and a friends daughter that was sick her first year of life and once they went their she has been better
Michelle D. replied:
Dr. Lim. He's the one who all the doctors' kids see.
Shannon C. replied:
We go to West End Pediatrics too. I love it that you never have to wait with a sick kid. They give you an appointment time. We go to Dr. Dawson but the others are good too. Sorry we haven't needed an ENT or an allergist. Thankfully we have not needed those.
Lucky H. replied:
Dr. Raj Petersson at MCV. She's awesome- top notch. My BIL is Dr. Ted Schuman at MCV- he wrote his doctorate paper on allergies and can treat both. I see them at the Stony Point office- very nice.
Lucky H. replied:
We also love Dr. Patrick Powers for allergy.
Stephanie B. replied:
We had Dr. Powers for allergy after our allergist moved to New Mexico. I went on Lucky's recommendation and was thrilled.
Tatiana B. replied:
Hey dear friend we have been that route before and were not successful but was just met with a bunch of medication that overtime would cause one thing or another we decided to go God's way. We said goodbye allergies many months ago tbuchanan.juiceplus.com #healthylivingrocks
Ane O. replied:
Dr. David Cross we love him!!
Bethany G. replied:
We loved Dr. Armstrong in Chesterfield (near Stony Point Mall). He is a strong Christian and prayed with us before Thomas' tonsil surgery. He also does extensive missionary work with Project Smile for children born with cleft palates. He was also a terrific, thorough doc!
Laurie L. replied:
Depending on symptoms, start with an ENT and then move to an allergist, if needed. I don't have an ENTs to recommend but Dr Powers is our kids' allergist. He is great with kids!
Betsy S. replied:
Cindy, we used Julie Redmon as the ENT for both of our girls. She was fantastic! She's at Comprehensive ENT.
Phyllis H. replied:
Dr. Cross is an adult Sent, but very pleasant and? Believer.
Deborah C. replied:
Cindy, our son had to see an ENT. Dr Robert Brager with Virginia ENT. He was really good.
Lucky H. replied:
Go see Dr. Schuman or Petersson and they will tell you if you need an allergist too. Both honest and straight-shooting, and kind/great with kids.
Tristan W. replied:
Dr Lim put tubes in Evelyn when she was 7 months. I asked all the doctors I worked with. He was the #1. With Virginia ENT
Katy M. replied:
My sister works for Dr. Armstrong and he is relaly good. Not sure if he sees kids but I can ask.
Carolyn F. replied:
I had a full work-up last summer at Richmond Allergy--they seem to deal with both adults and kids. If you suspect sinus or tonsil-type problems, go with an ENT though.
Chip P. replied:
Dr. Brager
Carolyn F. replied:
Oh, not good. I love the way ours guarantees you get seen, even if you just call on your way over. Not the flashiest lobby or exam rooms, but R has been seeing Dr. Collley at West End Pediatrics since birth. I like the "bedside manner" of Dr. Iwashana when we've seen him, too.
Hi there - I'm looking for recommendations for an allergist for my 7 year old. Someone specifically good with managing kids with peanut allergies. Thanks!
Katie L. replied:
Dr. Irani at MCV was recommended by our pediatrician and we liked her when we met with her. Our daughter ended up not having a peanut allergy but met with Dr. Irani twice for testing.
Diane S. replied:
Dr. Powers at allergy partners is who we see.
Jeannine D. replied:
Dr Kimberly George.
Angela H. replied:
Dr. Annemarie Irani MCV
April B. replied:
Jennifer Hall: We are making a 2 nd attempt at a food challenge with my peanut-allergic 7 year old. We tried 2 years ago but he was too scared to attempt it. He's pretty food phobic (VERY picky) and is still worried about trying peanut butter. He's a pretty quiet, shy kid so I would love to find a kind Dr he feels safe with. We loved Dr. T with Allergy Partners but he moved:( Do you have recommendations for a Dr or suggestions for how to encourage a timid kid to attempt a scary food challenge? Thanks!!
Does anyone have a good children's allergist / pulmonologist? Looking for someone who treats children's asthma.
Jessica B. replied:
My dad!!!! His specialty is kids and he is AMAZING. Been in magazines as best doctor. His name is Michael Blumberg and his number is 288-0055. Tell him you know me:)
Kim C. replied:
Greg Elliott and Mollie Anderson at Pediatric Lung Care at St. Mary's. Plan to wait, but they are excellent.
Amy H. replied:
We switched recently to Dr. Kimberly George and have loved her! Her waits are nothing compared to our old allergist and we've made a lot of progress with Brandon's asthma. He has nut allergies as well. She's also convenient - on Nuckols, right by Holman Middle.
Jennifer P. replied:
Caroline sees Lawrence Gelber, just off Mayland Dr at Independence Park
Rachel S. replied:
Emmersyn is going to see Dr. Kimberly George for the first time on wednesday for her chronic sinusitis and asthma....hoping we can figure something out!
