I live in SWFL (Port Charlotte) but I drive to Orlando to see my surgeon (3 hours) his name is Dr. Trumble; he's a pediatric neurosurgeon but knowledgeable with Chiari (he is considered a Chiari specialist too, I got his name off of Chiari Doctors in FL); I also did a lot of research on Dr. Barth Green in Miami if that is closer to where you'll be. He did a friend of mines moms surgery, is a Chiari specialist, and she had no problems and said he was amazing.

Actually if you look at the list, the doctors are all located close to the same area. I live in the Port Charlotte/Englewood/North Port Area; then there's Miami and Orlando, for such a big state I'm surprised. I've heard the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville also has Chiari experience (did Not do research on them myself, but Jacksonville is very far from Southeast Florida)

That all depends on when you're ready to have a doctor give you some real answers. A surgeon who truly understands your condition and it's "friends" that come with it. Maybe consult with Dr. Greenfield, and find out just what you're looking at first. Waiting to do surgery is your choice ultimately. But you have to consider that it can be causing permanent damage. I hope this helps. Where are you from?
