I have been suffering for months and finally went to podiatrist Dr. Michelle Whittaker in the Centennial Hospital Complex a couple of weeks ago. Got an injection, exercise/stretching plan. Feeling some relief. Took a while to get an appointment. Phone number is 615 327-3200.

Dr. Roger Passmore at Summit is my foot surgeon! He will do everything possible to help you eventually foot surgery which was laser and you didn't feel a thing. I had surgery on both of my feet after a couple years.
Amy R. replied:
I agree with frozen water bottle or golf ball to roll your foot on. And the stretching in the mornings helps as well. If you are looking for a chiropractor though, definitely go to Dr. Bruner at Active Life Chiropractic.
Julie D. replied:

New Balance running shoes are what's suggested. I've seen Dr. Mendoza for injections and inserts. Both work wonders. The injections may hurt like hell in the beginning but oh so worth it.

Dr. Tod Bushman at Summit put me on stretches. Thought for sure I needed surgery on both feet. A few months later was pain free and it has never returned. Could barely walk in the morning.
Debbie S. replied:
Dr. Hawthorne at Summit gave me a shot in the foot (and it hurt)! My foot ache for the rest of the evening. But it was GONE the next day! I'd do it again if it comes back. No doubt about it. I put up with it for far to long before I saw Dr. Hawthorne. That was 6 years ago.
Danielle G. replied:
Sidney Bennett advice is perfect!. Arch support all day all the time. No bare feet at all. Eventually you will get where you can tolerate some bare feet and flat shoes for a brief time, but during a flare up shoes, shoes, shoes. I was fitted at Team Nashville on West End for tennis shoes with great arch support and wore them for days straight.
Carol B. replied:
I also like Dr. Bushman, alhough we saw him for different reasons. Mike & I both suffered plantar fasciatis (sp)....it feels like a stone bruise on the bottom of your foot. Stretch & flex your feet, in other words point your toes outward & inward, several time a day. It can take a couple of months, but it worked for us. Crazy coincidence that we got this at the same time. But we're both free of the pain.
Angela B. replied:
Dr. Bushman at Summit is awesome!
Derek T. replied:
Contrary to popular belief the foot is actually designed to be without a shoe...once proper treatment is administered, the feet need re-training to function at optimum level. As far as supports are concerned, we make custom molds in office so that corrective shoe inserts can be made...www.tottychiro.com

Dr. Tod Bushman at summit medical center is a great podiatrist

Vionic.com for shoes or sandals. Also just visit your family Dr and ask him to approve physical therapy. I went to Star physical therapy. It went away. Still roll on bottle every morning and do stretches but doesn't hurt.

Dr. Van Manen at Advanced Orthopedics. He's a foot specialist and not surgery "happy" unless it's really needed.
