They operate at St. Mary's and all the nurses on the joint replacement floor are Ortho nurses. Cigna is covered with this group too.

Dr. Glowaki at Advance Orthopedic.. Seen'em twice for tendon issues in my wrist. He definitely has an enthusiasm for what he does.
MundaneEjaculation replied:
I went to Advanced Orthopedics, and saw Dr. McDermott, he removed a mass from my hand, and it was a difficult surgery because it was wrapped around two tendons in my hand. He successfully removed it and saved me my use of the right hand, which other surgeons said I'd have to lose function of my middle finger (THE MOST IMPORTANT ONE). He was awful nice and very transparent about what he was doing. The staff was wonderful, kind, and accommodating.

Hey! I had a very severe flexor tendon injury two years ago and fully recovered (except for some sensation in my hand due to nerve damage). I started a website and offer advice to anyone else who has this type of injury and would like guidance. If you have questions or just want to learn more, feel free to visit! Note though that there are graphic images of my injury on my site. www.flexortendonrecovery.com

Andy Symula at https://www.facebook.com/108882955817750Advanced Wellness at Richmond. It is worth the wait to get on his schedule. Andy’s holistic approach, compassion and humor have been a game changer for me. Will be eternally grateful for that man! (And he is a cycling beast btw)
Carlos C. replied:
Im seeing Dr Dec at VCU sports.
Jean C. replied:
Hello, Gregory, I haven't found a cycling orth yet in Richmond (although Katherine Dec whom someone else recommended is at VCU and works a lot with cyclists). I did find one "avid cyclist" orth surgeon named Thomas Brown at UVA, but I don't know if that helps you since a) it's a bit of a hike and b) his specialties are more in the joint areas than the back. (I managed to throw everything except my nose out of line, so he is on my list.) And thank you for recommending Andy! Deb commented that he also has a sense of humor - a great asset in medical professionals. When I last saw my oncologist 6 years ago, he had ZERO sense of humor (which didn't help at all), so Andy sounds like a winner!!! Hope this info is vaguely useful. Take care, and I hope your back is being kind to you.

I went to Dr. Kennedy, Chiropractor in Chester, VA near Food Lion. He sent me to a pain management DR. at Colonial Heights. He gave me Gabapentin ( take at bedtime, it makes you feel weird ) it really helped me. I have a herniated disc. After I retired and moved back to NC I have not been to Chiropractor and no longer take the meds. I still hurt some but now I can sit down and rest when needed.
Debra L. replied:
Have you tried a chiropractor? I have a good one in Chester. Plus I have a masseuse come in every six weeks for a full body massage. She lives in Petersburg but will come to your Home with her massage table, music and everything. She charges $1 per minute. I usually get one hour, my husband gets two hours. My chiropractor is Dr. Sandy Elbaum, she practices with her husband Dr. Adam Elbaum. Their office is next to Pediatrics office and dentist office on Rt. 10 on left as you leave Chester going toward courthouse
Can anyone suggest a good Richmond based orthopedic doctor that specializes in shoulder pain. A Mechanicsville location would be even better. Thanks!

You know I have had my share...I really like Dr. Shannon wolfe with tuckahoe but he is at st. Marys
Dianne G. replied:
Dr. Wolfe has an AWESOME bedside manner and he is the one the other surgeons in his group insisted I see. Plus he comes highly recommended by Matt Pulisic (my therapist) and you know he sees the results of many surgeons work. Be prepared to wait a while in waiting room though and thats pretty much the case with all of them. Tell him I sent ya and good luck!
