He did cataract surgery on my Mom when she was in her 80's. No one beats him for expertise, kindness and compassion!

For yourself or pediatric? When you say "in the area" how far are you willing to travel? I have two kids with vision issues and we just started seeing Dr. Kipp at Wheaton Eye Clinic and I was really impressed (but was not very impressed with the other peds doc there). I personally went to Wheaton Eye and was fine with it, but my eyes aren't too difficult to treat, and the doctor I went to retired shortly after I saw him, so I don't know who to go back to. If you're willing to drive a bit, we really loved Dr. James McDonnell at Loyola for my kids, and would recommend him as my top choice. He did my son's surgery and was wonderful. We only switched because our insurance somehow didn't cover everything they were billing for at each appointment.

Langner Eye Care. You will have the most complete eye exam you've ever had. Dr Kristin will explain each step to you and give you complete explanation of her findings. She and her husband own the business. He's a genius helping you pick out frames and will explain your lens options to you and let you decide what's best for you. There's no pressure to buy the fanciest lenses and most expensive frames. She's been in business forever and I've referred people to her and never had a disappointed result. They are in Roselle but it's worth the trip.

I normally don't comment on stuff like this, but I feel very strongly about Dr. Quartetti at Fox Valley Opthalmology....hands down, there is no one better. I have always had various issues with my eyes and am NOT a very easy patient. Dr. Quartetti completely impressed me from the very first time I met him, many years ago and continues to do so every time. He explains EVERYTHING. He takes his time and doesn't rush through the exam and tests. He is extremely knowledgeable and very honest. I trust him completely.......not something I can say about any other doctor. When I have recommended him to others, they have ALL said the same....he is without any doubt, THE BEST. I have seen a couple others within the same office, and they're all good, but Dr. Quartetti completely stands out as the best. I have no connection to him other than being a patient, and I first started going to him around 25 years ago. As far as the optical shop there in the office (Eyes of the Fox), I do NOT recommend them for many reasons.
