Ok Wake Forest peeps. I'm looking at having Lasik done sometime this year, who's got recommendations as to where to go?
Thanks
Jennifer W. replied:
Travers Lasik in Raleigh...both my husband and I had it done a few months ago....best thing I ever did for myself.
Erin H. replied:
I went to Triangle Eye Physicians and Dr. Patricia Smith. I needed a tune up after two years but it was included in the price. Best thing I have ever done.
Jill L. replied:
Dr. Gupta with Duke - Page Rd /RTP location.

I'm getting mine done with https://www.facebook.com/185708056444Travers Lasik Vision Care tomorrow!!
Donny S. replied:
My wife went with Dr. Dornic in Cary. He certainly wasn't the cheapest, but we didn't want to skimp on her eyesight.

Definitely Travers Lasik. She did mine in 2006 at Lasik Plus and my eyes are still 20/20! She is amazing!
Pansy J. replied:
I'm going to Travers Lasik on Monday for consultation. I've only heard good things about her.
Tanya B. replied:
Dr. Perry did my surgery over 10 years ago and I've been very pleased with the outcome. Oh, yeah...I also work there! ;) http://www.nceent.com

Another vote for Dr Travers!
Pamela K. replied:
Dr Kiley. He did a great job. I had to have PRK.

Porter Opthamology
Kristiana G. replied:
Just had mine done with https://www.facebook.com/185708056444Travers Lasik Vision Care yesterday afternoon and it's insane how this morning I feel great and can see perfectly! Her whole staff is awesome and the procedure was only 5 minutes. They are so efficient and professional. Granted it's a little pricey, but for the service and results it's totally worth it.

Highly recommend Dr. Porter at Porter Opthalmology on Millbrook Rd., Raleigh.
Anyone on here have lasik? Who did you use? Good or bad experiences wanted!
Anita C. replied:
I had a great experience with TLC 6 years ago. The "unnerving" part was addressed with a Valium beforehand. The procedure literally took less than 30 seconds on each eye. No regrets here - still at better then 20/20, was legally blind before. Follow up care has been with Dr. Peters at Eye Care Associates in Wakefield. He is also the one who recommended TLC. You could schedule a visit with him to talk about it. (919) 488-4666

My husband had Lasik a few months ago by Dr. Travers. He did a lot of research before choosing her. He has no regrets.
Deanna W. replied:
Dr Lori Travers did my surgery and I agree with others that it was the best thing I have ever done for myself.
Tina O. replied:
I used Dr. Travers also about 8 or so years ago, maybe longer, still doing great!!
Kimberly D. replied:
Dr Travers...had PRK and had zero issues with recovery. The best money I have ever spent on myself!
Lasik eye surgery! Has anyone tried it? They have surgery price of $299 /eye but dont know whether that is a price to get you in the door? Also want to hear peoples ...
Matthew F. replied:
I work for a LASIK company and assist the doctor with many procedures. All the customers are pleased with the results, but the cost is about $1500 per eye. I think that $299 is just a way to get you in there. Read this: http://www.lasik.md/learnaboutlasik/thesecretsof299 lasik.php#.Vq1WrYyDmJI
Mark C. replied:
I was one of Dr. Travers' first patients over twelve years ago when she first came to Raleigh and worked for LASIK Plus. She since has her own practice and did mine again last year. Though when you get it done a second time, you have to get PRK done and not LASIK. Still awesome results. (Just make sure of your needing to get both eyes done again that you do them one at time. I had both done at once and couldn't drive or see to do my work well for over a week and it sucked). The $299/eye price is to get you in the door and that for the VERY basic minimal correction. If you need anything done to change a real prescription, your looking at around $2000/eye. Dr. Travers does financing through Care Credit and you can get it down with zero down, zero interest for 18months. Just go do it. It's a free exam and you'll find out where you stand. The procedure literally takes two minutes per eye, and you'll be seeing perfectly within days of not the next day.
Phillip W. replied:
299 sounds like Dr Swindler with a laser pointer. Wife had hers done and it was the special surgery for some reason and we ....... I paid about 3000.00 plus and she was on the war path for about a week after and Lori did hers . Anywhere you go its nothing but upsale upsale upsale.
Tim-Diana F. replied:
$299 can't be a true price ...and if it were I'd NOT trust the outcome being better vision! I had it done -Kelly Eye Center-and the worst part is remembering to put the drops in your eye. The surgery is quick and painless!
Susan E. replied:
My sister had Dr. Kelly do hers. Easy peasy and for the first time in since she was 7 and had to get glasses she only has glasses for reading. She was almost blind as a bat before hahaha.
Interested in feedback from anyone who’s had Lasik Eye Surgery from a Doctor in the Raleigh area. What was your experience and about how much was the surgery? Please...
Brandie K. replied:
Lori Travers did my surgery 3 years ago. Best money I ever spent. I wish I could have done it sooner. It was around $3000.

Dr. Perry at NC Eye Ear Nose and Throat did mine and my husbands a few years ago and he is excellent. I believe we paid around $2,500/per person. https://www.nceent.com/meet-the-doctors/dr-dwight-perry
Where would you recommend to get lasik eye surgery consultation and actual surgery, and why? How long surgery takes, and healing time. I am sure prices vary? Thank you.

Mike D. replied:
Travers Lasik Vision Care - my wife had hers done there. The surgery probably took 5 min or less, in the office an hour at most. The next day you can get out and about, the day of the surgery you will be very uncomfortable and will take something to sleep. If you are older be sure to keep your eyes moist for 3-6 months to aid healing. Healing happens over time so do some research on how to have the best outcome.
Kimberly D. replied:
Travers Lasik. I had PRK (because my corneas were too thin for Lasik) so I didn't have the immediate perfect vision...I took a few weeks to heal...could still function just had to deal with adjusting vision. Actual surgery took less than 5 minutes. I liked the fact that I saw Travers turning people away because they were not good candidates...meaning she cared enough about their vision not to put more $$ in her pocket.
Todd B. replied:
Dr. Dean Dornic in Cary. Got my eyes done there 5 years ago. Still 20/15 vision. He is fairly cheaper than Travers too
Destiny R. replied:
Travers LASIK hands down!
Lisa P. replied:
Dr. Travers and her staff are awesome - woke up the next morning and drove myself back to her office without the need for contacts or glasses. My regular eye dr. praised her surgical skills, said he could hardly see any scarring from the surgery. Did need to use moisturizing drops for awhile after, but all things considered that was very insignificant. Best decision and money I have ever spent!
Tricia S. replied:
My daughter just had hers done in May at Porter Opthamolgy on Millbrook. He was so nice and personable, and she wasn't treated like just "another case". He did an amazing job. She took the next day off work but was able to see pretty clear with no issues. We highly recommend him, he's just so nice and their fees were better than any others.
Hey everyone looking to have lasik surgery done. Has anyone had it done and have any good recommendation. Thanks
Abby M. replied:
I had mine done at Travers Lasik and they were amazing. I have never spent my money better than getting it done.
Andrea W. replied:
Raleigh eye center. Dr. Kylie. If you use my name as a referral you get 20% off. He was fantastic and im so pleased. I've never seen so well in my life
Mandy H. replied:
Had it done 19 years ago by Dr. Lowry in Raleigh who is retired - best money spent! I've had no issues and wasn't inexpensive but oh was it worth it! LASIK isn't intended to do away with readers - that's just going to happen - can't blame LASIK for not fixing that. Good luck!
