I absolutely recommend Heritage Animal Hospital. We just took my 13 year old dog there on Tuesday and they were BEYOND phenomenal!! They took their time making sure both Jillian (dog) and I were doing alright =) Dr. Tran was so kind and spoiled my girl from the moment she walked in the room. Judy took us back to our room and she spent time with Jillian, earning her trust before anything started. Please call them and let them know about your concerns. They will help!!
Marc B. replied:
Try East Wake Vet. In Zebulon they are rraaly good.
Sierra R. replied:
I went to Bowman Animal Hospital off Creedmoore and they said if it did not get better they would do some allergy testing. They were pricey, but really great doctors.

Courtney S. replied:
Katie, Kelsey has been going to The Skin Spa of Wake Forest and we've seen a big improvement. It's $35 for a teen (acne) facial, and I agree with Kristi that it's not too girly. He has no qualms going there. Lisa also recommended a salve that has immensely cut down on the redness, and I think it was $10.
Michele H. replied:
Katie Farrell Williams..we just started to take Bailey to Wake Health Medical Group in the food lion shopping center in wakefield. Several families recommended them and have had great success. They do acne treatments and take insurance. We have only been once and unfortunately the provider we saw was leaving to be a stay at home mom. http://www.wakegreatskin.com/
Margit K. replied:
If they need prescription type care as well, Dr. Ghassemian at Dr.Echts office. We needed the retin A and oral antibiotics. And Lisa was the one who also suggested we see a Dr. When my daughter was so bad that it was beginning to scar. We are finally starting to wean off the oral meds. But it has been over 18 months. Her skin is so clear now. Both an aesthetician and a Doctor will be able to asses what your teen needs.

Dr Echt is the best. Had two surgeries for skin cancer and she did awesome job. I see her PA. Holly Martin for yearly check ups. Very sweet
Sherri C. replied:
Not impressed AT ALL with the PA I saw at Dr Echts office. Not mentioning names but it was a miserable experience and I felt like I was talked down to the whole time. From both the nurse and the PA. Maybe they were having a bad day.

Dr. Matheis hands down. I had an appt with her today. She and her staff are great.
Pam J. replied:
Wow! Since we moved here 5 years ago we have not heard anything but praise for Dr. Echt and her staff. I'm sorry you all had problems. I go to Holly Martin for my yearly skin cancer/ mole screens so does my husband and 2 college age daughters. I thought Dr. Echt was the only one who did the "actual" surgeries. As I said earlier, I know for a fact that one of the Dermatologists in WF has to send to Dr. Echt for surgery. I think it's the one close to the factory. I was told by a friend that goes there that she had to referred to Dr. Echt. Again, sorry you all had a bad experience there but we have had nothing but positive.

Dr Matheis was great with my 4 year old daughter. She's wonderful with kids!!!
Patrick F. replied:
Steer clear of Dr. Echt, in my opinion. In three plus years of taking my son to her practice, we've never seen her. It's always a PA. Finally got fed up paying full price for PA visits and not feeling like the herpes he contracted in high school wrestling were being effectively treated. Family physician visit last month confirmed my hunch. He was being given a dose of Valtrex that would be used for a cold sore. Done with her practice.
Kimberly D. replied:

Carrie S. replied:
Dr. Matheis is excellent with kids. I highly recommend her.
Veronica J. replied:
Do not go to Dr. Matheis.
Sarah M. replied:
I age with having your questions ready for Dr. Matheis. She definitely didn't explain my daughter's treatment. I should have asked more questions about what to expect. However, when I called the next day with questions, it was Dr. Matheis who got on the phone to answer them, and she had someone from the office call to check on my daughter the next day. I would definitely go back, just with questions prepared first. She's great with children and was very friendly when I spoke with her in the phone.

Dr. Matheis is great!! I love her and I like the girls that work there. She is clear, patient, personal, and she tells you everything while she is working on you.
Kimberly H. replied:
I love Dr. Matheis too…but I think she is pricey. JS.
Angela W. replied:
I'm with Mindy, I live in Youngsville and have heard amazing things about Dr. Lightened. She's been here for quite a while, her fees may be more reasonable because she's in a small town. I truly have heard many people sing her praises!
Amy B. replied:
We have seen Dr. Mathesis as well, but I will warn you that she is very meek and mild, not a "here's the problem, here's how we fix it" kind I person...that kind of personality in medicine comes across a little "uncertain" to me...just my opinion.
Kathryn G. replied:
Dr. Matheis is great. Been going to her for almost three years for routine skin checks. She just did surgery on my leg. She is very thorough with everything she does!
Mary H. replied:
Dr.'s Matheis and Lightener are great. Family has used both. Also suggest Dr. Eric Challgren - treats adults but we first met him when in need of one with pediatric skills.
Deborah M. replied:
I took Tyler to Dr. Lightner in Youngsville when he was a teenager. We did not like her personality - she helped his skin issues, but was very abrupt. I felt like we were intruding on her time if we asked questions. Doug went to Dr. Matheis in WF a few months ago and was pleased. We made his appt there because several co-workers at LHS recommended her to us.
