I recently posted the same question & got BOOKOO suggestions but I have to say that my #1 choice is definitely Dr Barry Swindlerwww.chiropractorwakeforest.com(919)349-9413 He will get you in quickly and you will get relief fast too. FYI - Here's my r eply to all who offered suggestions: First of all thank you to everyone of you who took the time to respond & share referrals with me!! As usual you don't disappoint....I contacted Dr. Barry Swindler who took my call & so graciously & kindly listened to my specific issues & many questions! He was such a patient listener & proceeded to bless me with a VERY generous free of charge phone consultation educating me about TMJ & how it effects my entire body in ways that made such sense to me that even as an RN, I had not understood. I quickly picked up what a caring, intelligent, very well rounded, educated & wholistic expert he is - not to mention a man of strong faith & a reliance upon God both in his private & professional life! As a Christian this is very appealing to me & a bonus if you will as I know many of you would agree! His practice does take many different insurance plans is finalizing negotiations as we speak with my insurance provider....but in the meantime will work out something feasible with us so that I can see him for an initial consultation to get my treatment plan rolling. I feel very confident that the Lord will use Dr. Barry to bring me the help & healing I am seeking & will share an update for any of you who may be interested! Sincerely, Mary Anne Flatley Jenkins Feel free to contact me at 919-671-6383

Dr Glen showed me 3 different exercises to strengthen my lower back and I did them every day between visits, and after the 5 weeks I was good as new. My lower back pain was excurtiating and debilitating, to the point where I could only function at 50% while using strong pain meds. We love Raleigh Neurology. My son is 7 and has been with Dr Rathke since 3 weeks. I also like that we can do testing on site. They also have a pharmacy on site. We get all of his rx's at the Target in WF, except for nasal versed for seizures, which we can only get at Raleigh Neuro. When my son's been admitted, it's been to Wake Med Children’s. If you anticipate surgery, I would consider UNC or Duke. Depending on your child's diagnosis, you might could go to Raleigh Neuro for the main diagnosis, then see a specialized neuro at UNC or Duke. For example, we go to Raleigh Neuro for seizures but see a neuro at UNC for disautonomia.
Debbie S. replied:
Duke Children's hospital is phenomenal.
Judi E. replied:
We use Dr Wooten with Raleigh Neurology and love him. When we needed a neurosurgeon, he referred us out to Dr Fuchs who is with Duke, but does (or at least did when we needed him a couple of years ago) once-a-week rounds at the Raleigh Neurology offices.
Cheryl C. replied:
When we moved down, our neurologist(Chief of Pediatric Neurology at an NYU hospital) referred us to Dr. Rathke at Raleigh Neurology. As a clinician and a mom, I could not be happier with the excellent care my son receives from Dr. Rathke and the staff at Raleigh Neurology.

My son's see Dr. Wooten at Raleigh Neurology-DEFINITELY recommend him!! He is AMAZING! I am also a Peds nurse at Duke and work with and know our Peds Neurosurgeons (not the same as our neurologists). I am not as familiar with the neurologists at Duke-but I have heard mixed reviews from patients. Our Neurosurgeons (Fuchs, Muh) are amazing and highly recommend them for any surgeries, etc.
Becca T. replied:
We see Dr. Gallentine at Duke Children's Neurology. He is a great doctor!
Holly N. replied:
Depends on the need but from personal experience I do highly recommend Duke Pediatric Neurology (Dr. Gallentine). Honestly it depends on your child's need as to who you might want to see. I think many have different "specialties". My son has been to Raleigh Neurology (Dr. Wooten) for concussions and I was very happy with him for that need. But Duke definitely for everything else as we ultimately ended up there after being referred by another Neurologist.
Danielle T. replied:
Highly recommend Duke Peds Neuro....recommend one of the satellite offices as they may be able to get you in sooner with your neurologist of choice. When they go to satellite offices, wait times are better. I work at Duke. Pm me if you need guidance with numbers to call. It can be overwhelming moving to a new area.

My daughter had brain surgery at Duke and is treated by Dr. William Gallentine and Lindsey Prang at Duke. We see them at the children's hospital there. It is the ONLY place we go!
Ashley A. replied:
My son sees Dr Greenwood at UNC for pediatric neurology. We were patients of Raleigh neurology for many years but I never cared for the actual practice itself, but I loved Dr Zinn. Once he left I was done with them. Duke Neurology is also amazing, we've bounced back and forth a few times.
Tiffany H. replied:
My daughter and I have both been to Raleigh Neurology and were very pleased with the experience. We both had to see several doctors with different expertise. They have everything testing wise on site and if something is urgent they will get you in immediately.
Lynn S. replied:
I would have to suggest Duke and especially UNC hospital my stepdaughter had horrible seizure about 30 a day she was at Duke never could solve it moved her to UNC and she was wonderful after that. I have multiple sclerosis and I go to Raleigh neurology but since a couple of the doctors have left I would not recommend them I'm probably going back to Duke myself. Good luck.
Joshua A. replied:
Been with duke for our son for 5 years. Dr. Jacien is wonderful for pediatric neurology. We have no plans of going anywhere else. I worked at UNC in nursing services for three years before changing careers twice and finally becoming a realtor. UNC is great also but duke is like our second family. Feel free to PM me any time for information I will gladly help in any way. Welcome to the area.
