I will tell you that Dr. Snyder in Cumming is a great podiatrist. But when I really found help for my plantar fasciitis is when I went to see Dr. Dana at Milton Chiropractic in Alpharetta and she used the Graston technique. Seriously. I suffered from this for nearly a year and after 3 doctors did not help much, I got a recommendation for Dr Keith Miller in Cumming. Right off the 400. He had me completely better in no time. Highly recommend him.
Scott E. replied:
You shouldn't need surgery. I had it for years. . . In the morning I crawled to the bathroom. I tried the boot with no success. Finally found a shoe that worked. It the only shoe I wear. It was a sketchers but not sure they make it anymore. Try Gravity Defyer shoes. I know this sounds too simple, but it worked for me.
Dr Kron!! I went to him for the exact same problem probably 15 years ago had three series of injections in my heels and I've never had one problem since!!
Mandi G. replied:
I went to Dr. Kron. Hes in Dawsonville and Cumming and he was awesomw. He recommended physical therapy first but i went straight to the surgery. I think it was the best decision ever. I dont have anymore pain.

I avoided surgery with good shoes too. Birkenstock. Chaco. Ecco. Had my athletic shoes fitted at Big Peach Running Co with Super Feet inserts. I put my Super Feet into any of my other shoes with lousy support. I don’t have a very diverse collection of shoes due to the cost, but they are well made and last forever. The best part- I don’t hurt anymore.

Village Podiatry has been fantastic for me. I have been seeing Dr Corwin, but Dr Snyder is great as well. I, too, saw Dr Snyder at Village Podiatry for plantar fasciitis- I have custom orthotics, did PT for 8 wks, home exercises, have a TENS machine and a night splint at home, and I avoid 'over using' my feet (walk a couple miles a few times a week instead of the 3.5-4.5 everyday that I was doing when I developed PF). Recovery takes time! I avoided both cortisone shots and surgery! Good luck! Dr. Snyder is great!
Rita G. replied:
I also saw Dr. Snyder he is great. I'm a hair dresser I'm on my feet every day for hours the best shoes are Fit Flops.

Kelly M. replied:
I had pf for at least 5 years. I finally went to Dr Snyder and did the night splint (which I couldnt do because I am such a light sleeper) foot brace, and frozen water bottle, stretches etc. Not much relief at all. Went to a Kaiser dr (I forget her name). She gave me an oral steriod for 7 days and told me which inserts to buy for my shoes plus heel cups. I am now pain free and stand on my feet at work for at least 5 hours day. Never ever go barefoot. Stretch your foot constantly. The oral steriod was a miracle cure for me.

I feel like I should be fair and explain. I suffered from plantar fasciitis for years. I was new to Forsyth and had to find a new doctor. He recommended night splints for both my son and me. I was very clear that we needed to be sure medical equipment was covered by my insurance. I was told my his staff that they were covered. I left with 3 splints. I got a bill a few weeks later for $750.00 for the 3 items. I called and was tossed around to different people. I was told there was no office manager at the moment, that the last one got fired. I asked for Dr. Hintze. He would not speak to me on the phone. I called for a month. Finally, I made an appointment and paid a co-pay for the sole purpose of speaking directly to him about the error that had occurred which wasn't even my fault. I proposed that I supply him with 3 EXACT devices, brand new, in plastic, that I found online for around $15 each. He would not accept that as a solution. I was dismissed. Later, I got a letter from him stating that he would settle for $350.00. I immediately sent a check for the full amount with a letter telling him I'd be sure to tell everyone I knew about my experience. When a patient leaves an office with supposedly $750 worth of medical devices, you'd better make sure those devices are covered so that both you and your patient are not surprised. I told them I didn't think they were covered, but they assured me they were. I felt absolutely swindled.

Alex and Natalie Salvador are very knowledgeable not just about running but about feet and shoes. The right pair of shoes really does make a huge difference. They will help you match the right shoe to your foot. They can also answer many training questions from beginners to experts. If your New Years resolution involves walking or running you should see them this week to kick your plan off without injury.
Natalie S. replied:
Plantar Fasciitis is the most common form of foot and heel pain due to the damage of the plantar fascia. The plantar fascia is the flat ligament band, or tissue, which connects the heel bone to the toes. This band supports the foot arch. Plantar Fasciitis is caused when this band is strained, stretched or damaged with small tears. These injuries can be caused by many things such as walking, standing or running for long periods of time, overweight, poorly fitting shoes, tight Achilles tendons and if your feet roll inwards. Along with rest and wearing the correct shoes, stretching and caring for this muscle band is one of the best ways to ease the pain and restore strength. Insoles are also suggested to go along to support to plantar during the healing process.
