We have used Dr George Beauchamp for our visually compromised daughter for over 18 years. Love his mannerisms and he is very good. Highly recommended him. Keep in mind the difference between Ophthalmologist (MD) vs Optometrist (not MD). Most kids just need Optometrist. My daughter has an eye disease from birth so we need the MD. Beauchamp recommends kids that just need Optometrist to Dr Casey Holdridge at: http://www.clearviewlaservision.com/phds.php We love her!!!

Does anyone know-- who is considered THE BEST ophthalmologist in the DFW area? Not just someone you like, per se, but is known as really the top of his field.
Dr. Michael Mong in Grapevine used to be my ophthalmologist and specialists I've seen used to tell me he is the best. I don't see him any longer because he doesn't take Medicare.
James B. replied:
Check out Dr Reinke. I have to have eyes check more often than the average. I won't go to anyone else. He got his undergraduate biology at Harvard. He earned his M.D. from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas in 1990. He completed his Ophthalmology Residency at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City in 1995 before finishing formal training with a two-year Vitreoretinal Fellowship at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, a division of Havard Medical School in Boston. http://www.dfwlasercataract.com/

Depends on your need - there are specializations. If you have cornea issues, Dr. David Callahan at Texas Retina. Consistently published research furthering eye treatments, doesn't get much better.
Anyone have a pediatric optometrist (not ophthalmologist) in the area they'd recommend? Thanks!
