My 17 yr old daughter has eczema on her legs. It is particularly irritated by shaving. It got really bad this summer to the point of her skin becoming patchy and discolored. So after much research she's been using Gold Bond Healing Lotion for daily moisturinizing and Coconut oil after showers. Her skin is progressively improving.
Connie B. replied:
Steven Meltzer is awesome!! He helped my son and is so caring!!

Agree with Kara Hardwick. Also see an acupuncturist to deal with the inflammation response. I see Dhanell at Advanced Wellness Center in Long Beach. Strong medicines can be problematic for a young person in their development, hormones, fertility, etc.

I second Dr. Miller. He's great.

We see Dr. Nemzer (Kaiser) for our daughter. She's awesome. Our girl has a much more serious skin condition, but we use coconut oil all over her. Works great to keep her moisturized and not itchy.

I know choosing a doctor can be hard; it's a total crapshoot as not only you might encounter an incompetent one, but mainly you don't want one with bad bedside manner. You want to use two sites: [Healthgrades.com](http://www.healthgrades.com/) and [Vitals.com](http://www.vitals.com/) to confirm. Also, Yelp to a certain degree works but some reviewers will just over exaggerate the quality of care you might actually get. Hope this helps!

I think most derms will offer you Propecia or Finasteride (generic) and it works much better than Rogaine or the shampoos like Nioxin. I have tried all 3 and the only thing that has really stemmed the tide of hair loss is Finasteride.

Robert H. replied:
I know how that feels, been just like that on my face myself, mind you I have the advantage of being an ex soldier with next to no vanity so anyone gave me "those" looks I just thought "f*** you" and got on with life, can;t be quite that easy for a young lady like yourself, I really do feel for you. Anyway, my favourite treatment is Diprosalic ointment, the scaling will look better within hours and the redness will look better in a few days, only problem is it's greasy and doesn't rub in well, you can get it on Amazon.com over here so I guess you can over there, not sure how much it costs and it's no cure but it does help. Hope it works for you or you find something that does soon.
Janice G. replied:
I'm starting to get it on my face, too I was hoping it would just stay on y elbows and fingers. Goat Milk Stuff.com sells some lotion which has been working for me. it's a bit pricey though
