I recommend Corpore Sanohttp://www.corporesanopt.com/ in Kenmore. Erik Moen (owner/director) is known as a "bike fitting guru" in town and works with tons of bikers and multisport athletes on injury prevention and recovery (accident injury as well as overuse). He has surely helped rehab many injuries such as yours. Good luck!
Jasmine A. replied:
Gwen Scott at Harborview is an awesome PT and she specializes in working with runners. My Ortho docs told me I'd probably never run again after I was hit by a car and suffered severe injuries to my left leg. Gwen helped me recover and become an even stronger than I was before my injuries!
Dan B. replied:
Hi Alina - I'm sorry to hear about your hip! I hope you're doing okay. Dr. Bruckner and Dr. Crutcher are solid hip surgeons: http://www.pro-osm.com/directory/people/show/james-d-bruckner and http://www.opaortho.com/staff/james-p-crutcher-jr-md. I would be happy to help you with your recovery - please let me know if I can answer any questions or get you started with rehab. daniel.h.benson@forefrontpllc.com

Malorie at Greenlake Sports and Physical Therapy is amazing. I had my acl redone in April and I'm already back skiing and marathon training. She's one of the best (and I got injured a lot when I was younger so have a fair bit of PT experience to compare to).
In need of a great Orthopedic surgeon. Any recommendations?

Dr Julian Arroyo in Lakewood is great for shoulders . 253-582-7257
Kathryn D. replied:
No, but at my old job, we worked directly with ortho surgery patients post-op from every hospital in the Seattle region so you learn quick who's good and who's not. Holland is by far the best and has the best reputation...and he's a cool guy. He's part of OPA Ortho in Seattle - anyone in their group is good. But he's the best. http://www.opaortho.com/staff/lawrence-e-holland-md
Rhonda S. replied:
Dr. Arroyo is the best.
Allen L. replied:
Thank you! I just read his bio and former Seattle Mariner physician sold me.
Dan M. replied:
Dr James Andrews.

Laurie A. replied:
Dr. Yearian if for feet. Or spelled Yerian.
Kathryn D. replied:
Dr. Lawrence Holland in Seattle. THE absolute best.
Rich L. replied:
Pro Alliance at Valley General. Dr Yuang was my surgeon. Also Dr Barrett is the Chief Surgeon who's highly recommended.
Brent H. replied:
UW Sports and Spine at Harborview. Dr. Mark Harrast for general, my spine surgeon was Dr. Brandsford, not sure who the other orthopedic surgeons are. UW is the only place I go for injuries.
Dan M. replied:
Dr Nicholas Riviera or Dr Hector Von Colossus. Both excellent.
Kathy B. replied:
Dr. Julian Arroyo did my complete shoulder replacement surgery.
Jacque S. replied:

Orthopedist recommended
that is on Bridgespan health care. Suggestions? Need good orthopedist that is also orthopedic surgeon that takes my insurance. Give me a name,...
Susan O. replied:
John recommends Orthopedic Physicians Associates, 206-386-2600, www.opaortho.com. Don't know about Bridgespan - you'll have to ask, but I don't see it on the list of insurance plans they DON'T work with. They're on Pill Hill somewhere. Their clinic is associated with Swedish Hospital. There are several specialists; one of them, Lawrence Holland, does the work for the Seattle Seahawks and Mariners, but plenty of other sports doctors.

I was always really impressed with Dr. Belfie when I worked for Virginia Mason. He is a fantastic surgeon, but what impressed me most was the time and energy he spent educating his patience along the way with each step. https://www.virginiamason.org/body.cfm?id=1175&action=detail&ref=39
Help! I've been told that I need both my knees replaced. I've taken a good look at the Xrays and it does indeed seem that I have advanced bone-on-bone arthritis from...
June S. replied:
Amanda, I had left knee replacement 9 years ago in the middle of when I was doing limited endurance riding. I had a wonderful surgeon at Providence in Portland. Dr John O'Shea at Oregon Knee Clinic. I was back on a horse in 2 months. No pain whatsoever in knee with riding now. I need to use mounting block, convenient rock or ditch to mount now.....due to lack of strength to pull by the knee into saddle. I did more endurance rides post knee replacement and it has had no effect on my trail riding except convenience of finding a place to mount! Advising you to have both done at the same time to save time of physical therapy and healing. It is pretty much hell for 2 months, but totally worth it. There is NO pain in knees while riding post knee replacement.
Aarene S. replied:
My best advice: do as much physical therapy PRIOR TO SURGERY as you can. Stronger going into the procedure means quicker coming back after.
Becky B. replied:
Aarene Storms' blog is haikufarm.blogspot.com - I think she even has a label of "hip surgery". I can't speak for her - but if I had to go out on a limb, I'm thinking she might even wish she'd done it a bit earlier? She was in a lot of pain at the end, and I think she thought recovery would be worse than it was... and, oh, I dunno. She is totally honest about everything in her blog, as well as very systematic and open about the whole process (as well as about everything in her life - she's just awesome.)

Cheryl, we had Summit Veterinary Referral Specialists in Tacoma recommended by our vet for a very serious and delicate surgery on our CF Lab last year. (A tumor on her rectum.) I'm not familiar with you pup's condition but you could check them out. Also Seattle Veterinary Specialists in Kirkland are outstanding.
Deborah M. replied:
We have taken our Smooth Fox Terrier to Seattle Veterinary Specialists for medial coronoid surgery and would highly recommend them. Good follow up.
Cary W. replied:
The group at Animal Surgical Clinic of Seattle are great as well.
Char P. replied:
Ditto on Animal Surgical Clinic of Seattle - highly recommend Dr. Alan Johnson. Not sure of his specific experience on OCD, but the whole group at Animal Surgical is amazing.
Noelle N. replied:
Dr. Allen Johnson at Animal Surgical Clinic of Seattle. He specializes in elbow arthroscopy. Sorry to her about your pup.
John B. replied:
It may be a long ways from Seattle, but Dr EB is in Tacoma at Summit, and he has labs of his own, and will bend over backwards for dogs, but especially lab owners. He has done our black labs knees, 2 cancer surgeries for our yellow baby, and orthopedic surgery on our chocolate lab. (He has even waived fees because of how much things cost....and like I said, he is a lab/owner lover.) He did the pull through surgery on our yellow lab, Lucky, and removed a mass from his rectum 5 years before. He is very smart, and very personable, which is rare to find a doc/specialist with both qualities. I hope your pup recovers quickly!!
Kerry W. replied:
Dr EB awesome! Did our black lab's two triple pelvic osteotomies when she was a pup. That was in 1999 but his reputation is a strong one in south sound.

How far are you willing to drive? My husband only trust Dr. Dawson in Federal Way. He’s had 6 knee surgeries and another one scheduled in two weeks!
Colleen L. replied:
I love Dr Flugstad. He,s rated as one of the top ortho knee surgeons in Seattle. He did my knee a few months ago
Daigoro T. replied:
They're a bit far, but I'd strongly recommend ProOrtho in Kirkland (next to Evergreen). Dr Clinton operated on my broken patella 3 years ago. As you may know, I'm fully enjoying biking again.
Patti E. replied:
Dr. Aric Christel, Swedish Edmonds! He did my Mom’s hip replacement surgery a year ago. It was a breeze and a speedy recovery. I highly recommend him!
