Dr. Marks is Greenwood is amazing. His philosophy is to be as least invasive as possible and if your kids wear Crocs, he lets them pick a jibbitz off his Crocs.

Seattle kids dentistry, lower QA. Dr. Linsenmayer and Dr. Merchant are both board certified Pediatric dentists, and amazing.

Dr. Marks for pediatric dentist; I like Chris Suzuki, he's my dentist. I loved Dr. Heath Miller at NWWHC. He was my OB for all my babies. For internal medicine I like Britt Anderson or Eva Kojnok at Minor and James Medical. Good luck and belated welcome to Seattle!

I see Dr. Kildare at the Polyclinic in Ballard. She's personable, knowledgeable, and honest. My GYN is at the Polyclinic downtown, she's been really great too, her name is Dr. McDermont. My entire family (we have children ages 14, 10, and 3) sees Dr. Wiley for our dental care, and we are very satisfied.
ISO an internal medicine doc who is accepting patients. I need 'em to act as my primary care provider. I struck out 4x today, so thought maybe someone here might be...
Carol B. replied:
Dr. Joshua Kachner in Covington. He is fairly new. Young. My retiring doc referred me to him. I use him as my primary as does my husband.
Tina A. replied:
Yes, Joshua Kachner. You can check him out at our website at www.southlakeclinic.com
Robert G. replied:
Depends on how far you want to go. This man is great for complicated cases. He took me in 2007 started sending me to a bunch of specialists. As he was getting things back from them they would all talk and figure out what needed to be done first. He is in Seattle, at the Cabrini tower by sweedish. He was working for Minor and James. His name is Dr. Wallace Hodges. I dont have his new number in my phone yet, however if you call Minor and James at (206)386-9500 they will give you his new information. He is one of the old time Dr's that take as much time with you that he needs to. So you could have a noon appt and not see him till three. That's why Minor and James forced him out. None of his patients complained about this. However they didn't know why he wasn't able to see more people. They had him write a letter of resignation, if he wasn't able to see his patients and have them all out by a certain time. They would accept his letter. So if you don't mind the drive or your appt being late, he would be a great Dr.
Ok how does one find a specialist...and know that the specialist is good? I need a REALLY good pulmonologist...or maybe internist...a lung person! Preferably near...
Julie A. replied:
You need Lynn Keenan. She works at Northwest Hospital. She was absolutely amazing when Ron was in intensive care at Northwest. One day he had to have 4 procedures done. She followed him around the hospital to each procedure. When thanked later for it, she said she did it because she wanted to make sure she didn't lose him. Another patient, she stayed overnight at the hospital because he was critical. 206-368-1558
Let the open enrollment questions begin! How has your family fared with Kaiser Permanente? I'd love to see some positive recs for favored physicians (especially...
Norman M. replied:
After years with Blue Cross Blue Shield in California I've been with Kaiser here for the last year since they took over Group Health. My GP is at the Ranier facility which is close. So far so good and easy to get appointments and talks to Nurses. The on line thing is great too. I had to go to Capitol Hill for a specialist but it worked out. The best it could be for the system we now have IMHO
Sara S. replied:
We've had good luck with Group Health and now KP. The Rainier clinic location is awesome and I love that it's a smaller family practice and they know our whole family. We have been able to see specialists when needed with no hiccups when it's within the HMO. Getting to a specialist outside the HMO has caused minor hiccups, but nothing that kept us from getting the care we needed.
Morgan S. replied:
My health issues are fairly complicated, and I need to see specialists that Kaiser doesn't have, which can be a bumpy ride. If you are generally healthy with the usual short term illnesses and injuries, then Kaiser is fine. I like my primary care dr., Dr. Paul on Cap Hill. She listens and is willing to spend the time with me to answer all my questions, then is supportive of the course of action I want to take.
Jessica U. replied:
I love Kaiser. Their online system is awesome. You can email you doctor anytime, set up appts, and access most of your records all online. Also all the doctors communicate with each other well since they are all in house so to speak. My primary is Dr Ann McKee who is great (Cap Hill ). I have an amazing endocrinologist. I've tapped into many of the department's (unfortunately) in the past several decades and had mostly good experiences. I use both Capitol Hill and Bellevue campuses for my needs. My kids have had to visit other hospitals. Once Harborview and one time Children's and I have received no flack about coverage in those two incidences.
Rachel M. replied:
If you have complex health issues and may require hospitalization or surgery then KP is not ideal because they have privileges at hospitals with lower patient safety grades - Bs and Cs for Swedish and Harborview. Only Virginia Mason and UW Medicine have A grades.
