As you can see from the varied comments, it's all up to you! I did ER to Cath Lab to ER to IR to PACU to IR to Cath Lab to Cath Lab/IR. I did not get bored. Any experience is what you make it. Some are a perfect fit while others are not. I gained new skills and connections. In the end, I love all the areas for different reasons. And as a traveler, I still rotate thru all those areas. There are contracts willing to train ICU/ER nurses in Cath Lab/ IR/PACU. Just be SURE hospital understands you are there to train. Good Luck in your new adventure!!!

Cheryl, we had Summit Veterinary Referral Specialists in Tacoma recommended by our vet for a very serious and delicate surgery on our CF Lab last year. (A tumor on her rectum.) I'm not familiar with you pup's condition but you could check them out. Also Seattle Veterinary Specialists in Kirkland are outstanding.

We have taken our Smooth Fox Terrier to Seattle Veterinary Specialists for medial coronoid surgery and would highly recommend them. Good follow up.

Ditto on Animal Surgical Clinic of Seattle - highly recommend Dr. Alan Johnson. Not sure of his specific experience on OCD, but the whole group at Animal Surgical is amazing.

It may be a long ways from Seattle, but Dr EB is in Tacoma at Summit, and he has labs of his own, and will bend over backwards for dogs, but especially lab owners. He has done our black labs knees, 2 cancer surgeries for our yellow baby, and orthopedic surgery on our chocolate lab. (He has even waived fees because of how much things cost....and like I said, he is a lab/owner lover.) He did the pull through surgery on our yellow lab, Lucky, and removed a mass from his rectum 5 years before. He is very smart, and very personable, which is rare to find a doc/specialist with both qualities. I hope your pup recovers quickly!!

Dr EB awesome! Did our black lab's two triple pelvic osteotomies when she was a pup. That was in 1999 but his reputation is a strong one in south sound.
