Dr Theresa Vo in Coppel. Learn more about her on her website@theresavo.com.
Frank B. replied:
We like this group because of their Christian followings used. Great for pre-marriage guidance which we used for preparation for our then blended family. PM if you have any questions. They also offered sliding pay scale for those on limited funds. http://www.rapha.info/
Michele H. replied:
She is need a psychiatrist-not counseling. recommend looking on website--www.psychologytoday.com. can look up psychiatrists in the area and read their bios and website. can then narrow the group by topics such as special interests such as autism and insurance taken.
LauriAnn C. replied:
Best to check with your insurance. Ours only covered 12 child psychiatrists in the DFW area. We see Dr. Lisa Pierce off 1171 and pay out of pocket until we meet our ginormous deductible, then they reimburse only 60% because she's out of network.

Kathy O. replied:
Please get your child a mental health evaluation from two counselors. Try to get one from a LCSW. See if they mesh regarding evaluations. Then you take the next steps necessary for your child. There is a great article on our WTF FB wall today about mental health. Winning the Fight. Dr Costello is a child psychiatrist in Highland Village.
Kathy O. replied:
There is also Mary Smith,AAC, that specializes in working with ADD/ADHD kids. 972-839-0678
Linda N. replied:
Eliminating High Fructose Corn Syrup worked for us.... See. Dr. Justin Fortier at Apple Wellness (by FM Post Office). He can help you identify any food intolerance and sensitivities
Linda N. replied:
Please take your children to Dr. Justin Fortier (Apple Wellness) by the FM Post office. 972-839-9926 He can do muscle testing to tell you what basic foods that your child has issue with. You can also take foods in with you and he can test those as well. He can also tell nutritional deficiencies and how to supplement according to your child's need. It is my understanding that if the spine is out of alignment the brains messages can't travel down the spine properl. I can tell you that if I my son doesn't get alignments regularly he goes hyperactive. Dr. Justin is a kinesiologist/chiropractor. In the long run he will save you a lot of money and time even though he doesn't take insurance. Best wishes to you all - ADD is a tough road.
Debra M. replied:
I'd recommend a psychologist rather than a psychiatrist. In this case, I suggest my colleague, Dr. Kathy DeOrnellas: http://kathydeornellasphd.net/

Please feel free to join my son's new group he created. He's 20 years old, has grown up with ADHD, realizes that he can be a resource for parents and is eager to help. You can ask him anything and he will be happy to help. Even if you are not dealing with ADD/ADHD/spectrum situations, please feel free to join the conversation. He has so many great ideas of how to help kids focus, what to say to them and how to handle school situations. https://www.facebook.com/groups/1379555439018687/
Kathy L. replied:
Do your research. There are a lot of things you can do yourself to help. ADD is now ADHD! Diet, vitamins, fish oil, high protein. Dr Susan Badaracco at kids first pediatrics is awesome. She has helped me with our struggles tremendously
Christine E. replied:
A psychiatrist is able to prescribe medication. In many cases they can be quick to prescribe before diagnosing. There is a lot of truth between food allergies and ADD. It's good to check those out as well. Beware if your child can't sleep and starts acting violent that it's not the right medicine for him.. Despite what the Dr says. Good psychologist we have gone to was Sheri Golly in Grapevine. Psychiatrist we like is dr Zrynic in Coppell. Denise Wooten in Lewisville is good too.
Cherie H. replied:
I have heard amazing things about Dr. Fortier. We did a serious diet revamp and eliminated a ton of foods with sugars and artificial colorings. Our son made the decision in 3 rd grade he no longer wanted to be on ADD/ADHD meds because of how they made him feel. He is going in 8 th grade and has been an A/B student for the last 4 years with no meds all diet controlled

Kristen Diamond, psychologist- located on 2499. She's great.
You won’t find any therapist/psychologist in FM that take UnitedHealth Care. From what was told to me, there are too many in town so UHC won’t cover anymore.
I'm looking for a doctor who can make an official diagnosis of adhd. Hoping for a family practice type doctor vs a psychiatrist. Please and thank you. :-)
Ericka T. replied:
I took my son to 2 "specialists" and finally ended up right back at our pediatrician who has done wonders with him. Elizabeth Dickey in Grapevine 972-331-7200
Cassandra W. replied:
I think adults need to go to the psychiatrist/psychologist. There is one in lewisville Dr Lisa Pierce For your younger one we use Dr McAnnelly in Coppell. Fantastic pediatrician! Works well with the kids (and parents). Monitors the meds regularly.
Jennifer D. replied:
I would recommend Dr Bengston in Southlake. She worked with my son and I know that she also works in testing/diagnosing adults and I saw many adult patients in the lobby while we were there. She schedules an appointment to listen to your concerns. Then a separate appointment is scheduled for testing along with some paperwork you will need to fill out. Lastly you'll meet with her to discuss the diagnosis and she can give you a recommendation for either follow up therapist or possibly a psychiatrist if going the medication route. Hope this helps.
