I have Seminoma Stage IIa with one lymph node at 1.9 cm, and finished radiation treatment only last month. The assumption is that it was pure Seminoma, as none of my markers were elevated, so I go back in May for my CT scan to hopefully confirm no more cancer. I don't have any reco on doctor, just wanted to share my similar diagnosis and treatment plan so far.

My doctors had the same concerns with teratoma being in my lymph nodes despite scans showing no spread to the lymph node region. They wanted to be sure that were not any traces in the region and offered me laparoscopic RPLND (robotically assisted). It’s a highly controversial operation in the testicular cancer world. Lucky for me, in DC, my urologist specialized in laparoscopic surgeries and had performed many operations. In all, he removed 29 lymph nodes and not one had any trace of cancer! The operation for me was a “rather be safe then sorry” operation. Yes, open RPLND may be needed but only if there is recurrence and my doc explained to me with my results there would be a less than 5% chance of recurrence.

We did. Our son had hypospadias repair by Dr Merguerian at about one year of age (almost three years ago). Our experiences at Children's have always been fantastic, as our son needed bilateral inguinal hernia repair prior to being discharged home...can't remember the exact surgeon who did it, but it is a phenomenal place!
