Howdy, folks. Looking for a recommendation for a runner-friendly podiatrist or doctor--I think I've got another stress fracture. Thanks in advance.

Argh! I had a stress reaction last year and was really happy with the Orthopedic clinic at UNMC. http://www.unmc.edu/orthosurgery/patient-care/clinics.html
Jeff D. replied:
Dr. Campbell at Omaha Spine and Sport.
Maren C. replied:
Dr. Summy and Dr. Hinze at Foot and Ankle Specialists did an awesome job for me. http://www.nefootdocs.com/. I prefer their Bellevue location even though it's a longer drive. The one out west seemed to have a longer wait time.

Jennifer L. replied:
Not sure where you're at, but Dr. Little with Bellevue foot and ankle is worth the drive! He himself is a runner, so he understands! He's helped me through stress fractures, and even shin splints!
Claire R. replied:
Dr Grier or Dr Inda at GIKK are fantastic orthopedic MDs that specialize in the foot and ankle, Dr THOMPSEN at OrthoWest is also a great choice. If you just need a quick and dirty "yes stress fx no stress fx," there are clinical tests we can do tat point us in the right direction. (Tuning fork over the area for vibration pain, ultrasound over the area for vibration pain, etc).
Podiatrist recommendation. Hey all,
Can anyone recommend a podiatrist? Especially someone that does sports medicine/athletes. I'd really appreciate it, took me forever...

http://www.dodgestreetfootdoc.com/ I saw Dr. Greenhagen a couple of years ago for an ingrown toenail. He was patient and nice and not at all a jackass. Basically not like most medical specialists. I'm not sure about sports medicine though. I've also been to OrthoWest for a neck problem, but they have foot & ankle Drs there too.
Would anybody have some suggestions on a good Podiatrist to see in the Papillion/Omaha area? 2 years of dealing with Plantar Fasciitis, a bone spur and now an issue...
Sara H. replied:
I've been going to Dr. Olari off 50 th and Grover for years, he did bunion surgery on my feet and has taken care of a few ingrown toenails. LOL Whether he specializes in sport issues, not sure, but he's been in business for a long time and is super friendly and knowledgeable!

Sykes, Cullen, Galligan, Scott Nelson are all good
Felicia W. replied:
Dr. McBride and Dr. Kunnathil at Nebraska Medicine in Interventional Radiology. They specialize in a minimally invasive procedure called a fasciotomy to break up some of the scar tissue to provide pain relief. Much less invasive than release surgery and when all conservative measures have failed. They have treated a few runners with success!
Okay Goatz, I'm looking for recommendations for an awesome podiatrist in Omaha... Any suggestions?? Thanks!!

Dr Palmquist!
AnnieLori J. replied:
Dr. Barnes is a very kind doctor, with excellent surgical skills. He never pushed surgery on me, even though he knew it would be the best option. He waited out my running season, and after a highly evasive surgery, had me running again in less than 8 weeks!!! I was highly impressed with his office as well. They were excellent with me (running crazies and all.)
Sarah S. replied:
I've went to Dr. Sumy at Foot and Ankle Specialists. Had bunion surgery before I started to run and haven't had any pain or issues with my foot since starting to run 4 years ago (have finished up to a full).

I see a lot of recommendations for chiropractors as regular/general care providers. I am wondering if someone could explain this to me...I guess I keep...
Jessica B. replied:
Regular chiropractic care ensures your vertibrae are not pinching the nerves of your spinal column. Your nerves ensure your organs are working properly. If a nerve is pinched your body will express side affects in various ways. We took our son to the chiro because he had an ear infection. His C1 was out. He was adjusted and felt better the following morning. Now, does going regularly mean you will be/need to be adjusted every time? Nope. We aren't always adjusted when we go. Sometimes we don't have any vertibrae out. Sometimes we are in dire need of going.

Papillion Chiropractic is awesome! I saw Dr Kurt today! He also helped my son with spitting up, irregularity, and favoring one side when turning his head. We've been slacking but will definitely be getting back to regular adjustments.
Can anybody recommend a good podiatrist? For a friend, of course... Lol :-)
