I love love love Dr David Keller with Alegent. Not a fan of Alegent but love him. He never rushes me out the door. He is anti Meds if you really don't need them. He's a let's rule out easy/small stuff first. He listens and is patient. He explains things thoroughly and answers all your questions. He was leaving to go out of town and even called me from the airport to see how my newborn was doing after seeing him earlier that day!

For when I'm truly sick and natural means are not enough to help my body fight I like Tabitha Nenninger, M.D.. Methodist Physicians Clinic HealthWest Family Medicine. 16120 W. Dodge Road Omaha, NE (402) 354-0610. May I also recommend a Chiropractor, Dr. Chelsea Goedken, Back In Balance Chiropractic & Acupuncture, P.C., 402-991-7170. After years and years of suffering from headaches and seeing specialists and being on multiple different drugs the only thing that took them away was chiropractic adjustments. Dr. Goedken is so gentle and very personable and will listen!:) Good luck!

Brynne H. replied:
I really like Lindsey Degenhart at Skin PC in Elkhorn.

Internist? If >65, try to get in with a gerontologist. West Omaha (Alegent System) -- Heather Morgan, MD (http://www.alegentcreighton.com/body.cfm?id=139&action=detail&ref=2830) If you want full set-up, the Home Instead Center (UNMC) is full of great providers (Bill Lyons, Jane Potter, Ed Vandenberg are all A-lister's). They don't have West Omaha locations though. All centered at ~40 th & Leavenworth. http://www.unmc.edu/homeinsteadcenter/newpatients.htmRegular Internist for all adults (22+ and up) --- Mark Omar --- He's in the Methodist System at Methodist HealthWest ~156 th & Dodge. He's always rated top notch each year, so it's tough to get an "opening" for a patient. Chad Reade at the same place is a few years out of residency, though highly recommended as well. (http://www.facebook.com/l.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.mhsdoctors.com%2Fphysician-profile%2F%3Fid%3D17837&h=xAQHKzCUJ) Derm? No idea. Anywhere you can get an appointment. (Can be tough these days.)

Anonymous asks: My friend has been taking testosterone for years. The doctors don't know what's causing his low levels. He is now being increased to 6 pumps of androgel...
Jennifer W. replied:
Dr. Ryan at Alternatives has a lot of patients that she's helped with low testosterone. The hardest part is getting off of testosterone supplements but it's a necessary step to regaining sperm count. A protocol using HCG works best. He needs to be prepared to feel very tired and run down for several months while his body works on turning his testicles back on and creating his own testosterone. At that point, a doctor can do a full hormone panel to see exactly where various hormone levels are naturally. A natural approach includes a high cholesterol low inflammatory diet along with getting proper sleep. This supplement has been proven to increase sperm count (likely by increasing the body's testosterone). He should also seek help from the Pope Paul Institute.

Integrative O. replied:
Consider Dr. James Biskup at Bellvue Family practice. He is a holistic family practice MD who does good work with hormones. definitely needs have his Adrenal glads tested using saliva, because under stress the body will selectively use the parent hormone Pregnenolone to make cortisol, instead of sex hormones, including testosterone. Have him google "low testosterone and pregnenolone steal" that explains how the adrenal stress response often causes low Testosterone in men.

If you want to go the holistic route first, which it sounds like you do, then I highly recommend Dr. Mallory Rupp of Rupp Chiropractic & Advanced Nutrition she is Nebraska's only Chiropratic Internist. I've personally met with her and our first consult was over 2 hours long and incredibly thorough. Her office takes a lot of insurances too. I don't think youll find any allopathic doctors willing to treat a condition from all sides and resorting to medication last. Reposting! ~Katie
